Picking tangerines straight from the tree is one of the most fun things to do in Jeju with children. Farms run from early October to January, and the classic orange orchards look their best from mid-November.
Quick facts
- Season: October to January; fruit is fully orange from mid-November (October fruit is still greenish)
- Cost: about 5,000–20,000 won per person; open-field farms charge around 7,000–11,000 won for 1–2 kg
- Ages: toddlers can pick with help; kids from about 6 enjoy using the clippers themselves
- Free age: differs by farm, so ask when you book
Three family-friendly farms
1. Jeju Songjeong Farm (Jeju City)
Close to the airport, so it fits your arrival or departure day. 2 kg for 11,000 won with unlimited tasting while you pick. Book online; kindergarten-age children and younger are free.
2. Hueree Natural Park (Namwon, Seogwipo)
Picking plus a large garden park makes a full afternoon. Entry: adults 13,000 won, teens 11,000 won, children 10,000 won; picking is an extra 8,000 won (36 months and up). November hours 09:00–18:00, last entry 16:30.
3. Citrus Museum (Hyodon, Seogwipo)
Combine picking with an indoor museum, a good rainy-day option. Entry 1,500 won plus about 5,000 won per kg picked.
Orchards have dirt paths, so a baby carrier is easier than a stroller. Stroller access, nursing rooms and covered greenhouse picking vary by farm.
2026 Jeju Citrus Expo (kids free)
- Dates: November 19 (Thu) – 23 (Mon), 2026
- Where: Seogwipo Agricultural Technology Center, Namwon-eup
- Hours: 10:00–17:00 (exhibition halls until 16:30)
- Tickets: 2,000 won on site, 1,000 won if booked by November 18; under 13 and 65+ free. Pre-booking also gives 30% off at Hueree.
- Programs, parking and shuttles for 2026 hadn't been announced yet
Hueree and the expo are both in Namwon, so they pair well on the same day.
Bonus: Moseulpo Mackerel Festival
The Choenamdan Bangeo (yellowtail) Festival runs November 19–22 at Moseulpo Port. Last year children could try catching fish by hand for free, first come, first served. Moseulpo is at the far west of the island, so don't try to combine it with the expo on the same day.
A half-day plan
- 10:00 Citrus Expo before the crowds
- Lunch nearby, then nap time in the car
- 14:00 Hueree: picking and a park walk (last entry 16:30)
The sun sets around 5:30 PM in November and it gets chilly fast, so pack jackets for the kids.
Tips for foreign travelers
- Jeju is much easier with a rental car; you'll need an International Driving Permit.
- Many farms take bookings only in Korean. Ask your hotel to call, or use Naver Map's booking button where available.
- Bring a bag; farms often give you a box to carry fruit home.
Summary
For orange orchards, go after mid-November; for festivals too, aim for November 19–23. Near the airport, choose Songjeong Farm; in Seogwipo, pair Hueree with the Citrus Expo.
