Incheon Day Date: Open Port Streets, Wolmido Sunset & Free Songdo Night View
Want to see the sea without a long trip? Take the subway to Incheon. In one day you can stroll century-old streets, watch the sun drop into the Yellow Sea and finish with the glittering Songdo skyline. Here is the route from day to sunset to night.
Quick facts
- From Seoul: subway Line 1 to Incheon Station (end of the line); Chinatown is right outside
- Sunset (calculated): Nov 15 at 17:24, Nov 22 at 17:20, Nov 29 at 17:17
- Avoid Mondays: the sea train, museums, art center and G-Tower all close
1. Afternoon: the old Open Port streets
From Chinatown it is a short walk to the Open Port area (Gaehangjang), where buildings over 100 years old, like former banks and a hotel site, line the streets. It feels like time travel.
- Jajangmyeon Museum: adults 1,000 won, 09:00–18:00 (last entry 17:30), closed Mondays
- Daebul Hotel Exhibition Hall: adults 1,000 won, Tue–Sun 09:00–18:00; 5-site combo ticket 3,400 won
- Incheon Art Platform: recent shows free, 11:00–18:00, closed Mondays; November exhibitions
Learn the history of jajangmyeon (black bean noodles, a Korean-Chinese classic born here), then go eat a bowl in Chinatown. A fun pairing.
2. Cafe Pat-al in a Japanese-era wooden house
Cafe Pat-al (팟알) keeps a Japanese-style wooden building that is a registered national heritage site. Reviews say the attic seats need a reservation; it is quiet and cozy for two. Hours and booking.
3. Sunset at Wolmido
Wolmido is about 10 minutes by bus from Chinatown. The Wolmi Sea Train circles above the shore in about 42 minutes, but in November it stops around 6 PM, so ride it before sunset.
- Wolmi Sea Train: weekdays 11,000 won, weekends 14,000 won, closed Mondays · November hours
- Wolmisan glass observatory: free, 07:00–22:00; shuttle "seal car" 1,500 won round trip, or a 30-minute walk
Watch the sun set over the West Sea from the observatory or the coastal promenade.
4. Night: Songdo Central Park & the free G-Tower observatory
After dinner, take Incheon Line 1 to Central Park Station. The 33rd-floor observatory in G-Tower is free and looks over Songdo's forest of towers.
- G-Tower observatory: free; Tue–Fri 10:00–21:00, weekends and holidays 13:00–21:00 (last entry 20:30); closed Mondays
- Water taxi: open daily, winter 10:00–19:00, adults 4,000 won, about 20 minutes, weather permitting
The water taxi ends at 7 PM, so if you arrive early, ride it first and save the observatory for later.

- Incheon's districts were renamed in July 2026 (Jung-gu became part of Jemulpo-gu), so some maps may show old names.
- Use Naver Map or KakaoMap for the bus from Chinatown to Wolmido.
