Chuncheon with Kids: Animation & Robot Museum, Soyang River Skywalk and Dakgalbi

Does your child love cartoons? Then Chuncheon, a lake city east of Seoul, is worth a day. The Animation Museum and Toy Robot Hall sit side by side, and with a glass skywalk over the river and dakgalbi for lunch you have a full day. Closing days differ by place, so we flag those too.

• From Seoul: ITX-Cheongchun train from Yongsan or Cheongnyangni to Chuncheon Station, about 1–1.5 hours, or by car

1. Animation Museum & Toy Robot Hall

Cartoon history plus robots, made for kids. Little ones enjoy the characters, older kids the robot activities. It is indoors, so it is a solid plan for rain or wind.

2. Soyang River Skywalk: your ticket comes back as a voucher

A long glass-floored walkway stretching over the river. The fun part: you pay 2,000 won and get a Chuncheon Love gift voucher to spend at nearby shops, so it feels almost free. Whether it is the full amount. It is listed as barrier-free with ramps and a wheelchair lift, so strollers should be mostly fine.

3. Lunch: Chuncheon dakgalbi

Chuncheon is the home of dakgalbi, spicy stir-fried chicken cooked at your table. Worried about spice? Some places do a mild soy-sauce version or a kids' menu. Add a bowl of makguksu (buckwheat noodles), which kids usually like. Go around 11:30 on weekends to beat the wait.

What about LEGOLAND?

Many people think of LEGOLAND Korea when they hear Chuncheon. In 2025 it ran a winter festival, "Merry Bricksmas," from November 21, but in some past years it closed for months in winter. Check this year's November–December schedule on the official site.

Tips for foreign travelers

• From Chuncheon Station, taxis are the quickest way to the museum; show the Korean name 애니메이션박물관.
• Dakgalbi sauce stains: bring a spare top or ask for an apron.
• The riverside is windy; visit the skywalk while the sun is out.
