Busan in late autumn is made for couples. The sun sets early, so you can see a sea sunset and the city lights in one afternoon. This route takes you from a tiny capsule over the coast to a sunset deck and finally a drone show over Gwangan Bridge.
Quick facts
- Best day: Saturday (drone show night)
- Sunset: around 5:15 PM in mid-November
- Budget: sky capsule for two about 40,000–50,000 won; drone show free
1. Afternoon: Haeundae Blueline Park Sky Capsule
Small 2–4 person capsules glide slowly along an elevated rail from Mipo to Cheongsapo, right above the sea. Having a capsule to yourselves makes it Busan's favorite date ride.
- Address: 116 Cheongsapo-ro, Haeundae-gu, Busan (Korean: 부산 해운대구 청사포로 116)
- Winter hours (Nov–Feb): sky capsule 08:30–18:00; beach train 09:00–19:00; open every day
- Beach train: from 8,000 won per ride, 16,000 won all-stations pass
- Sunset slots sell out. Online booking reportedly opens 14 days ahead; if Mipo departures are full, try booking from Cheongsapo in the other direction.
2. Sunset: Cheongsapo Daritdol Skywalk
From the Cheongsapo stop, walk about 10 minutes along the boardwalk to this observation deck with a partly glass floor over the water. Arrive around 4:30 PM to watch the sky change color. Bring a scarf; the sea wind is cold.
3. Dinner at Gwangalli
A short taxi ride takes you to Gwangalli, where you can eat while Gwangan Bridge lights up. Millak-dong at the east end is the place for raw fish; the beachfront has ocean-view restaurants and cafés. Saturdays are busy, so reserve a window seat if you can.
4. Night: Gwangalli Drone Light Show (Saturdays)
- When: every Saturday; October–February shows at 19:00 and 21:00
- Length: about 12 minutes, with a new theme each week; free
- Weather: rain or strong wind can cancel it, so check the official notice on the day
- Tip: step a little to the side of the main beach to get the bridge and drones in one frame.
5. Late November bonus: Haeundae Lighting Festival
From November 29, 2026 to January 18, 2027, Gunam-ro and Haeundae Beach light up. On the last weekend of November you could see both the drones and the lights.
Beat the crowds
- Weekday mornings are quiet for the capsule; always book sunset slots.
- Mipo's parking is a mechanical lot that may not fit SUVs.
- Staying overnight? A Gwangalli hotel lets you walk back after the show.
Tips for foreign travelers
- Haeundae and Gwangalli are both on Busan Metro Line 2.
- Use KakaoT to call taxis between Cheongsapo and Gwangalli.
- Many beachfront restaurants take reservations on Naver; ask your hotel if needed.
Summary
Afternoon sky capsule, sunset at Cheongsapo, dinner at Gwangalli and the Saturday drone show. Book the capsule and pick a Saturday, and the rest takes care of itself.
